The Northport Public School's Science Club is an extracurricular after school activity for students in grades 2-5, with second and third grade students meeting on Mondays and Tuesdays and fourth and fifth grade students meeting on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Club was created by Karen Trolenberg who is also the coach. The club meets in a classroom that is designed to encourage scientific exploration. The club members participate in guided activities that touch on many subjects including electricity, magnetism, geology, astronomy, chemistry, botany, etc. after which, they are given time to choose any of the science related activities and/or resources they feel like exploring on their own or with friends.
