Norte is Northern Michigan’s youth-focused, neighborhood-based, active transportation 501c3 advocacy organization, dedicated to building a better connected and more walk/bike friendly community.
Norte's STEM-related programming includes classes, workshops, and summer camps such as The Solution (an educational series: acquire skills, techniques, tips, and tricks to make maintaining your bike easy and fun), El Barrio Bike Fix (a free, weekly summertime community meet-up: get your hands dirty, turn wrenches and learn basic bike repair and maintenance skills), and Traverse City & Suttons Bay Summer Bike Camps (develop bike repair and maintenance skills, like how to change a flat and adjust your brakes).
Norte's programs are a great way for youth to learn about the mechanics of a bicycle and become a more confident, creative rider and kid.
