Calendar 1 - LIVE Local Virtual Events

Parent Coffee Break

The Parent Coffee Break is a video conference discussion facilitated by Newton's Road for parents to share schooling at home struggles, what's working well and ideas to share. Each session will start with a 15 minute transition time to get your kids on task with provided activities or lessons you'd already planned for the day before we start the facilitated portion. Tuesdays at 2pm, May 12 to June 9. This program will be via Zoom. Click for access.

STEM at Home LIVE with Newton's Road

Grades K-5: STEM at Home hosts local experts to provide engaging and interactive science lessons especially for K-3 students in our community. This comes at the request of our regional educators to address an identified need to teach science and STEM learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is broadcast on Traverse Area Community Network, Facebook Live, and Cable TV. Thursdays at 2pm, May 14 to June 11. Click for access.

Grades 6-9: Learn about local STEM-related careers online and with featured guests from industries in our region sharing about their jobs. Tuesdays at 4:30pm, May 19 to June 9. Click for access.

Grades 10-12: In addition to finding out more about local STEM-related careers, we'll investigate pathways to try these jobs on for size and regional programs to obtain the skills needed. Thursdays at 4:30pm, May 21 to June 11.  Click for access.
